How to Choose a CCTV Installation Company in Abu Dhabi (2026)

Almost every CCTV company in Abu Dhabi will tell you it's the best. The difference shows up months later — when you need a clip from last Tuesday night and discover the camera was out of focus, the storage overwrote it, or the installer's number no longer answers. Here's a practical, ten-point checklist to separate a proper installer from a cheap one.

The 10-point checklist

1. ADMCC licensing. For regulated premises, the installer must be ADMCC-licensed. Ask for proof and check it's the same company on your contract. (What ADMCC requires is covered in our ADMCC guide.)
2. A site survey before a price. Anyone quoting a fixed "per camera" price without seeing the site is guessing. A survey identifies angles, lighting, cable routes and risks.
3. A camera layout, not just a count. Ask for a drawing showing where each camera goes and what it sees. Coverage is what you're buying — not a number of boxes.
4. Like-for-like, itemised quotes. Camera brand and model, resolution, lens, recorder, storage size, cabling type and warranty — all written down, so you can compare fairly.
5. Proof of night performance. Most incidents happen at night. Ask to see sample footage from the proposed camera in low light.
6. Storage sized to your retention. Storage should be calculated from camera count, resolution and the days you're required to keep — not rounded to whatever disk is in stock.
7. Proper cabling. Structured Cat6 or better with PoE, neatly routed and labelled. Poor cabling is the most common hidden fault (see our structured cabling guide).
8. Secure remote viewing. Phone access should be set up securely — not by opening the recorder straight to the internet.
9. Documentation and handover. As-built drawings, credentials handed to you, training and warranty terms. You should own the system, not the installer.
10. After-sales support. A named contact, defined response times, and a maintenance option. Cameras need attention over their lifetime.

Red flags

• A flat price per camera with no survey.
• No licence, or a licence under a different company name.
• Vague equipment ("HD cameras") with no model numbers.
• No past projects they're willing to show you.
• Admin passwords kept by the installer after handover.

Questions worth asking

• How many days of footage will this system keep, and how did you calculate it?
• What will the camera at my entrance capture at night?
• Who handles ADMCC submission and inspection?
• What happens if a camera fails in month eight?
